Sign in with Apple is a privacy tool that makes iOS users more secure when using third-party apps and websites with their Apple ID. Instead of logging in with Facebook, Google, or creating a brand new account, you can choose to use the Apple Sign In Tool to verify your credentials.

Signing in to Apple signals the tech giant's commitment to privacy, which has long been the company's mantra. Since then, Apple has added more privacy controls to iOS, including the ability to prevent apps from tracking you across websites, and "Nutrition Labels," which let you see what information an app collects before downloading it.

Here's everything you need to know about how Sign in with Apple works and how to use it. Plus, here's how to check your iPhone's privacy settings in two easy steps and nine strong password rules.

How to Sign in with Apple

1. When you open an app or website - if it supports Sign in with Apple - just tap Continue with Apple .

2. Accept or deny any permissions requested by the app.

3. Follow the on-screen prompts for your Apple ID. You can choose to edit your name, share or hide your email. Select Continue.

4. Enter your password when prompted. You can also use Face ID or Touch ID to confirm. If you don't have any of these three, you can use your Apple ID password.
