Canonical launches free Ubuntu Pro Personal Edition subscription service

(Global TMT, October 13, 2022) Ubuntu Pro, an extended security maintenance and compliance subscription service, has now launched a public beta beta version for data centers and workstations. Canonical will provide a free version for personal and small commercial use in accordance with the company's community commitment and mission to make open source more accessible to the general public.

Ubuntu Pro extends security coverage of critical, high and medium CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) to thousands of applications and toolchains including Ansible, Apache Tomcat, Apache Zookeeper, Docker, Drupal, Nagios, Node.js, phpMyAdmin, Puppet, PowerDNS, Python 2, Redis, Rust, WordPress, etc. The Ubuntu Pro Personal Edition subscription service supports up to five machines.
